Chicago, US · Full-time · $140,000 – $170,000
About this role
The Senior Preconstruction Manager leads and coordinates all preconstruction activities for utility-scale wind, solar, and storage renewable energy projects. This role integrates engineering, permitting, interconnection, and scope development to ensure projects are fully designed, de-risked, and contractually prepared for efficient construction starts without delays or gaps.
Day-to-day involves managing engineering deliverables by coordinating internal teams and third-party engineers for geotechnical, civil, HV, PV, and BESS designs at bid-ready levels. Oversee survey execution, site layout optimization, and civil permitting strategies to balance constructability, constraints, and cost efficiency while minimizing LCOE.
Work in a cross-functional environment coordinating with development, engineering, legal, transmission, and compliance teams. Facilitate utility crossing agreements, interconnection planning, and O&M requirements integration through proactive stakeholder management and detailed scheduling.
Assemble comprehensive scopes of work via cross-functional reviews to eliminate gaps and support procurement. Incorporate lessons learned and cost optimization through LCOE analyses, driving design efficiency and project improvements for long-term success.
