The Construction Project Manager II owns execution of construction projects valued at $5M–$25M from handoff after bid award through closeout. This includes subcontract development, subcontractor onboarding, and full project administration.
Manage overall project financial performance by overseeing budgets, cost controls, forecasting, backcharges, and change orders to deliver projects at or near budget. Lead field and resource coordination with Superintendents and colleagues to plan manpower, equipment, and work sequencing. Track progress, communicate status, and resolve issues to keep projects moving forward.
Serve as the primary point of contact with PennDOT, maintaining daily interaction with owners and inspectors. Submit and update progress schedules, negotiate change orders and time extensions, and resolve scope discrepancies. Balance office and field leadership approximately 50/50 to align work with contract requirements and prevent unapproved work.
This role operates in a professional office environment with regular collaboration across teams and occasional travel to project sites. Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience managing heavy highway projects
- High School Diploma
- Direct engineering experience preferred
- Computer proficiency
- Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
