About this role

The Senior Construction Project Manager leads field execution of NineDot Energy’s Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and other Distributed Energy Resource (DER) projects from the 30% design milestone through construction, commissioning, and turnover. This role owns construction delivery by managing contractors, overseeing field operations, and coordinating with internal teams. Projects must complete safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory standards.

Day-to-day involves coordinating with Project Engineers and external Engineers of Record from 30% design through Issued for Construction to ensure constructability. Support multidisciplinary design reviews at 30% and 60%, raising field issues like access and clearances. Provide field-oriented feedback to optimize safety, efficiency, and minimize rework such as trenching layout and installation sequencing.

Reporting to the Director of Construction, the CPM plays a key role in the Engineering, Planning & Construction team. Ideal for hands-on project managers balancing field leadership with project tracking and stakeholder coordination. Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, Procurement, and Interconnection teams to integrate design and site conditions.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience leading construction field operations for energy storage or infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of constructability reviews and field execution alignment for BESS and DER systems
  • Proficiency in managing contractors and subcontractors during civil and electrical installations
  • Familiarity with utility interconnections, permitting, and regulatory compliance in construction
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, and planning
  • Expertise in optimizing installation sequencing, trenching, access, and site constraints
  • Strong oversight of safety standards, quality control, and on-site commissioning processes

Responsibilities

  • Lead field execution of BESS and DER projects from 30% design through commissioning and turnover
  • Coordinate with Project Engineers and external Engineers of Record from 30% design through Issued for Construction
  • Support multidisciplinary design reviews at 30% and 60%, raising field-related issues for resolution
  • Provide field-oriented feedback to optimize construction safety, efficiency, and minimize rework
  • Manage end-to-end project delivery from readiness and handoff through turnover to operations
  • Confirm field readiness ensuring permits, disconnects, and site access before mobilization
  • Oversee daily contractor and subcontractor activities on-site for safety, scope, and quality
  • Direct civil and electrical installation, utility interconnection, inspections, and punch list
