About this role
As a bridge engineering designer, you’ll provide technical assistance and guidance for due diligence, investigation, remediation, improvement, and construction infrastructure projects. You’ll assist with the research, design, concept development, planning, and construction of load-bearing structures such as bridges, signs, walls, and transportation facilities. The bridge design engineer reports to the design manager.
Your day will involve bridge inspections, assessment, and rehabilitation design. You’ll review shop drawings and provide field technical support of bridge construction. Complete quantities and construction cost estimates, along with report preparation and cost estimating.
This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment, routinely requiring standard office equipment like computers, phones, and copy machines. It may include exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazards, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water. Physical demands include frequent sitting, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional lifting up to 35 lbs or operating a company vehicle.

Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification
- Ability to work in hybrid office and field environments
- Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines
- Tolerance for occasional exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazards, and bodies of water
- Physical capability for frequent sitting, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional lifting up to 35 lbs or operating a company vehicle
