We seek a Senior Structural Bridge Engineer for our Transportation Structures team in Ontario, supporting high-profile infrastructure programs.

As a senior technical leader, shape bridge and structural solutions across transit, rail, and municipal infrastructure. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and delivery partners, influencing decisions from early planning through design, construction, and lifecycle management. This role supports alternative and progressive delivery models.

Provide hands-on guidance, mentoring, and technical oversight to junior and intermediate staff. Contribute to internal best practices, guidance documents, and technical forums. Share lessons learned and help shape the future of the Bridges practice in Canada.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed with Professional Engineers Ontario
  • Approximately 15 to 20 years of experience in bridge and structural engineering
  • Strong knowledge of the AREMA code, Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code and Ontario transportation design standards
  • Experience delivering bridge projects through design and construction
  • Experience with Metrolinx, CN, CP Rail, or other rail authorities
  • Exposure to alternative delivery models
  • Experience mentoring or technically leading teams
  • Bilingualism in English and French or Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Lead and review the design of rail and transit bridges and structures
  • Deliver conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs, including specifications and cost estimates
  • Apply CHBDC, Metrolinx, OPSS, AREMA, and client-specific standards
  • Support alternative and progressive delivery models
  • Work with Project Managers and Directors to deliver technically sound, practical solutions
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to deliver high-quality, integrated designs
  • Interface with clients, agencies, rail authorities, utilities, and contractors
  • Support construction through reviews, site support, and resolution of technical issues
