Work on diverse and impactful bridge projects across the region. Utilize state-of-the-art tools and technologies to design and develop digital models of bridges. Contribute to transformative infrastructure solutions.
Perform structural modeling, design, and oversight for bridge and transportation infrastructure projects. Coordinate between groups on highway, pedestrian, railroad bridges, commuter rail stations, marine structures, energy projects, and retaining walls. Participate in a highly collaborative team environment.
Lead structural inspections, evaluations, and load capacity ratings. Provide technical support, training, and quality assurance reviews to staff. Mentor junior staff while advancing in an expanding and innovative group.
Requirements
- 8+ years of structural bridge/transportation design experience required
- B.S. in Civil Engineering required (structural emphasis preferred)
- PE license required
- Experience completing engineering studies, design reports, compiling contract documents, and developing contract plans
- Strong familiarity with structural engineering software (e.g., Mathcad, FB-MultiPier, ATLAS, STAAD Pro, LARSA 4D, AASHTOWare)
- Model-based design experience with Bentley OpenBridge, OpenRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit
- Strong technical skills in bridge/structural design and critical thinking
- Experience with and motivation to lead and mentor junior staff
Responsibilities
- Perform structural modeling, design, and oversight for bridge and other transportation infrastructure projects
- Prepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, estimates, and calculation packages
- Provide technical and training support to structural engineering staff
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of project construction documents, engineering reports
- Lead structural inspections/evaluations and associated load capacity ratings
- Review fabrication drawings and provide construction plan reviews
- Assist project managers with coordination between various groups working on structural projects
- Participate in the proposal process, determining client requirements and developing plans, specifications, and cost estimates
