The Construction Manager supports public housing projects in the Los Angeles area during the construction phase. Serve as point of contact for internal clients and external regulatory agencies across multiple projects. Oversee all facets from mobilization through construction and closeout.
Day-to-day involves inspecting projects for compliance with building and safety codes, interpreting plans for staff and clients, and negotiating contract revisions with architects and subcontractors. Prepare budget estimates, implement quality control programs, and value engineer for savings opportunities. Confer with owners, contractors, and professionals to resolve work procedures and construction problems.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Architecture
- Seven years of progressive experience in the construction field
- Experience managing public housing projects preferred
- Knowledge of public sector regulations and permitting processes
- Proficiency in project budgeting, scheduling, and cost tracking
- Ability to negotiate contracts and manage subcontractors
- Familiarity with quality control programs and value engineering
Responsibilities
- Manage, oversee and coordinate all facets of the construction phase for public housing projects including mobilization, construction, and closeout
- Determine labor requirements and dispatch workers to construction sites
- Inspect and analyze projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations
- Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients
- Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Plan, manage, and coordinate all aspects of the project schedule, scope, and cost
- Value Engineer the project by identifying opportunities for savings and ensuring material substitutions are equal
- Communicate with and manage project stakeholders
