The Structural Engineer will handle design projects, developing calculations using standard and advanced FEA techniques. Responsibilities include creating drawings and specifications for steel, concrete, and masonry structures with seismic design emphasis. Work supports the Oak Ridge office with some travel required.

Requirements

Sole US citizenship required to comply with government customer requirements
B.S. in Structural/Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering school
5+ years of post-education experience
Design experience with steel, concrete, and masonry with emphasis on seismic design
Experience implementing IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE 7
Experience working within a quality system based on ISO 9000 or NQA-1
Ability to use finite element software such as STAAD.pro or equivalent
Competence using Microsoft Office software

Responsibilities

Develop design calculations using standard and advanced analysis (FEA) techniques
Create drawings for structures made of steel, concrete, and masonry
Develop specifications for structures with emphasis on seismic design
Implement local and national codes such as IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE 7
Use finite element software such as STAAD.pro or equivalent
Follow established quality procedures to ensure procedural compliance
Support Oak Ridge office projects with some travel
